The reality star clarified that her breakup with Carl “was not my decision, and I do not agree with the idea of ​​ending a relationship (at this level) without first trying everything that was possible.” She added: “I have spent the last two weeks finding my own closure and peace. I am forever grateful to my best friends who didn’t leave me and who picked up the pieces of my heart and my life every day following the fallout.

“I’m still grieving and trying to understand everything that happened,” Lindsay said, “but I thought it was important to keep you all updated. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for love and support from my friends, family, cast mates and all of you for supporting me.” Lindsay shared her statement on her Instagram, where she deleted all of her photos with Carl after their breakup.

Lindsay and Carl were supposed to get married in November in Mexico, before news of their split broke in late August. Carl confirmed the breakup in a letter to friends and family obtained by PEOPLE September 11th.

After confirming that the couple was “no longer moving forward with the marriage,” Carl’s letter went on to say, “The fact is, Lindsay is devastated and I am crushed by how this all happened.” I am graciously asking for some patience and grace to heal and recover as we navigate this extremely difficult time. Carl also apologized to guests who have already booked their flights and hotels for the wedding and said he wasn’t taking his decision to cancel the engagement “lightly.”

Lindsay and Carl met on the first season of Summer house but didn’t start dating until late 2021. They got engaged in the Hamptons while filming season 7 of the series. The cameras were apparently rolling when they split and the drama will unfold in season 8.
