The famous stuntman Rémy Julienne died on the night of Thursday to Friday as a result of covid-19, at the age of 90. The man with 1,400 productions, who notably participated in several James Bonds, had been in intensive care at the hospital in Montargis (Loiret) since the beginning of the month.
“What had to happen happened, he left us at the end of the evening (Thursday). It was predictable, he was on an artificial respirator, ”explained a relative. The death was confirmed by the deputy of Loiret, Jean-Pierre Door, a friend of the former stuntman.
Started by “Fantômas”
Rémy Julienne, a native of Cepoy (Loiret), near Montargis, made his debut in cinema in 1964. At the time French motocross champion, he overtook Jean Marais on the set of “Fantômas”.
His career will span over fifty years and will allow him to double notably Yves Montand, Alain Delon, Roger Moore and Sean Connery. He will appear in the credits of six James Bonds, but also of classics of French cinema: “Le Mur de l’Atlantique” (Marcel Camus), “Le Solitaire” (Jacques Deray), “Le Cerveau”, “La Grande Vadrouille” ( Gérard Oury), “Adventure is adventure” (Claude Lelouch).
According to a source close to the family, Rémy Julienne will be buried in Cepoy, in the family vault.
