Stuck in traffic, the Boston weatherman delivers the morning forecast from his car

“It’s Monday of Fridays.”

No one, it seems, can escape Boston’s traffic.

Not even the city meteorologists.

WBZ weatherman Jacob Wycoff was late for work Friday when he was stuck in a backup on the Mass. Pike caused by accident. The growl meant he had to send his morning forecast from a new place – his car – giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “traffic and weather together”.

“What a Friday,” he said in a video to viewers. “I got caught up in some of this Mass traffic. Pike, stopped at two separate locations. Tried to get a detour and couldn’t find one. So I kind of collapsed somewhere safe, and I’m bringing you the weather from this gas station.

The forecaster said he had never broadcast from his car before.

“There’s a first for everything, I guess,” he said.

Wycoff finally made it to the WBZ studio, where he delivered his latest weather updates.

But, in a sentiment probably familiar to anyone who has endured Boston traffic, the effects of the hellish ride still seemed to be with the Boston weatherman.

“It’s Monday of Fridays, if it’s such a thing,” Wycoff said. “Are we sure it’s not Friday the 13th?” Because I feel like that’s how my luck turned out today.
