Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 Better Call Saul 6 Part 2 & More: July Web Series on Netflix, Hotstar, Prime Video
Stranger Things 4 is, once again, the biggest name on TV two months after its premiere, thanks to an oversized fourth season conclusion. Volume 2 – as it is officially called – will undoubtedly set up the fifth and final season which has already been confirmed. But how many of our favorites will make it? You can find out when Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 will be released today on Netflix worldwide. It’s not the only big show coming to an end in July. Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul is entering its home stretch — it’s Season 6 Part 2 — premiering July 12 on Netflix in India. It picks up from that explosive death in the mid-season finale, and should have more in store for us as the series finale approaches.
Meanwhile, Close to Home all Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Prime Video have revealed their usual original series for the month. Prime Video premieres on July 8 with Modern Love Hyderabad, the Telugu language adaptation of showrunner Nagesh Kukunoor’s American romantic comedy anthology. Hotstar Specials is next July 15 with Shoorveer, an armed forces thriller that brings together the best of the best from the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. That leaves Netflix, which has a returning original — a rare moment that’s happened in consecutive months now — with the second season of the comedy-drama Masaba Masaba, available July 29 on its platform.

stranger things 4 volume 2
When: July 1
Five weeks after its premiere, the fourth season of Stranger Things returns for a two-part mega finale. Spoiler alert for Stranger Things 4 Volume 1. The Hawkins Gang’s battle with Vecna - revealed to be Dr. Brenner’s first experience, One (Jamie Campbell Bower) – will take place over nearly four hours in total.
“Chapter Eight: Dad” is 85 minutes long, making it the second longest Stranger Things episode of all time. But it will actually end up as the third longest, as “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback” – the season four finale – is about two and a half hours long. It’s 150 minutes. It is by far the longest episode, the previous record being 100 minutes.
In fact, “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback” is longer than many movies. Except for Stranger Things 4, it is one of nine episodes. Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers – i.e. Matt and Ross Duffer – are writing and directing both parts of Stranger Things 4 Volume 2. No new cast members are expected. is expected, but you never know.

Modern Love Hyderabad
When: July 8
Where: Amazon Prime Video
It’s in the hands of Nagesh Kukunoor. Not only is the director of Hyderabad Blues the showrunner of this Telugu-language adaptation of the American anthology series of romantic comedies from the New York Times’ “Modern Love” column, but he’s also the director on half of his race. Uday Gurrala (Mail), Venkatesh Maha (C/o Kancharapalem) and former production designer and executive producer Devika Bahudhanam manage the other three.
Aadhi Pinisetty, Nithya Menen, Ritu Varma, Suhasini Maniratnam, Revathy, Naresh, Malavika Nair, Abijeet Duddala, Naresh Agastya, Komalee Prasad and Ulka Gupta lead the cast which will be split into six episodes. Just like on Modern Love Mumbai. Speaking of its Hindi-language predecessor, Modern Love Hyderabad has its work cut out for it, considering the critical panning given to Modern Love Mumbai.
And by that, I mean, good luck Kukunoor. Modern Love Hyderabad will go up or down on their account. All six episodes of Modern Love Hyderabad will be available at the same time.

Better Call Saul Season 6 Part 2
When: July 12
“I’m not your friend. And if you get greedy and decide to come back for more, don’t. This is all we’ve gotten from AMC yet – minus a teaser and more a sound clip – regarding six episodes from the second half to the sixth and final season of the Breaking Bad spin-off.
Speaking of Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston’s Walter White and Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman are set to return, as has been known since before Better Call Saul season 6 debuted. part 1, expect them anytime now. Carol Burnett also has a role.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is directing the Part 2 premiere, and writing and directing the penultimate episode. Breaking Bad fans will know the weight of this second track. Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould is writing and directing the series finale. One episode per week until August 16.
what we do in the shadows season 4
When: July 13 (expected)
Where: Disney+ Hotstar
Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) is still a baby at the start of the fourth season of this vampire mockumentary, and it looks like Laszlo (Matt Berry) has decided to raise him. Laszlo’s lover, Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), meanwhile, is interested in opening a (new) vampire nightclub. And oh, the other vampires — and Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) — are busy renovating their Staten Island mansion.
What We Do in the Shadows season 4 starts on July 12 on FX in the United States, and is therefore expected on July 13 in India. The fourth season kicks off with two new episodes when it premieres, with one new episode per week thereafter until September 7. And don’t worry, What We Do in the Shadows isn’t going anywhere, having already been renewed for two more seasons.
When: July 14
As if the Resident Evil timeline wasn’t confusing enough already — six Milla Jovovich-helmed films between 2002 and 2016, before a forgotten reboot last year, plus an animated series on Netflix itself — we get now another live action Resident Evil Project. For what it’s worth, this one isn’t related to any of them, so it might be a good entry point.
Netflix’s Resident Evil is set in the year 2036, 14 years after a viral epidemic caused a global apocalypse, where 15 million refugees try to survive among six billion human victims. It will also make heavy use of flashbacks to 2022, showing us how the world ended through the lens of 14-year-old twins who realize their father is hiding something.
Of course, the bigger question is whether it will end up being any good. Those seven films were largely terrible – and while the reboot also flopped at the box office, those before it at least could argue that their commercial reception improved over the six-movie run.
Lance Reddick (John Wick) and Ella Balinska (charlie’s angels) headlining the cast. All eight episodes of Netflix’s Resident Evil will be available at the same time.
When: July 15
Where: Disney+ Hotstar
Hotstar Specials is here to add to the “patriotic” thrillers that have been popping up for years now. After an enemy attack deep within India’s borders kills more than a dozen, the powers that be task the armed forces with preparing a paramilitary unit that would act as “first responders”. I think someone needs to remind these guys what the term first responders means.
Either way, step into the Hawks, with Makarand Deshpande bringing together the best of the best from the Army, Navy and Air Force. Regina Cassandra, Armaan Ralhan, Aadil Khan, Abhishek Saha, Anjali Barot, Kuldeep Sareen, Arif Zakaria and Faisal Rashid play the elite individuals. Naturally, these guys butt heads over principles, bravado, etc.
Don’t expect anything on the level of Top Gun: Maverick though, with Shoorveer’s trailer indicating very little use of practical effects. And in what now seems like a tradition with Indian productions, the CGI is very unconvincing. It seems to me that the CGI budget was less than the cost of a Redmi phone.
Samar Khan (The Test Case) is the creator and showrunner of Shoorveer, with Kanishk Varma (Sanak) handling directing duties. All episodes of Shoorveer will arrive at the same time.

Masaba Masaba Season 2
When: July 29
In the second season of the semi-autobiographical comedy-drama, the mother-daughter duo will be more brave and courageous. At least that’s what Masaba said in an interview: “As women, we’re told to be modest, shut up and let people appreciate us. I do not agree. Nobody is going to do it for you. It’s a job you have to do yourself. You have to go out and ask for what you deserve and make sure you get it.
Not much else is known about Masaba Masaba season 2. The release date announcement video – which also serves as a 19-second first look, see below – shows an anxious Masaba watching a test of pregnancy, while her mother waits anxiously outside the bathroom.
Behind the scenes, Sonam Nair returns as director, having directed all six half-hour Season 1 episodes.
