STILL MISSING: Search continues for missing Dekalb County teenager

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala (WHNT) – The search for a missing Dekalb County teenager continues after she was last seen Sept. 26.

Makenna Joy Purvis, 19, of Valley Head, was last seen leaving a spot on Inspec Drive in Valley Head.

On Saturday, the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) formed a search team with the Fischer Island Rescue Team, Valley Head Police Department, Dekalb County EMA, two canine units and local fire departments. They searched the wooded area Makenna was last seen in. However, there was no sign of her in the area.

She is described as being 5ft 6in tall and weighing around 100-120lbs. She has red hair and hazel eyes.
