Steven Gerrard has been offered a one-game ban by the SFA after being sent off against Livingston on Wednesday.
The Rangers manager was awarded two yellow cards in a row after swearing to referee John Beaton on the pitch at halftime.
Gerrard reacted angrily after Beaton booked forward Alfredo Morelos for a simulation during the first half of the game, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Rangers.
The former Liverpool manager has been charged with breaking SFA disciplinary rule 203, which prohibits “match-making misconduct”, and he could now face a hearing in Hampden on March 25 if Rangers decide to contest his suspension.
If the club agree to a game ban, Gerrard will miss Saturday’s game against St Mirren at Ibrox but would be free to take his place in the dugout for the Old Firm game at Celtic Park on March 21.
