Stephen Colbert calls out Arizona election deniers with Second Amendment blight

“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Tuesday annoyed a Republican-run county in Arizona for its refusal to certify the results of the state’s midterm elections. (Watch the video below.)

If Cochise County doesn’t approve its tally soon, all votes in the GOP-controlled region will be excluded, a state election official said. The new results “threatened to swing the winner in at least two close races — a U.S. House seat and a public school leader — from a Republican to a Democrat,” the Associated Press reported.

“Oh you model darlings,” Colbert said. “I’m surprised you like the Second Amendment so much because you keep shooting yourself in the foot.”

In the gubernatorial race, Democrat Katie Hobbs narrowly beat GOP’s Kari Lake. Lake has yet to relent, and former President Donald Trump has demanded that she be “installed” as governor. Colbert also had a lot to say about this:
