Stephen Colbert busts Kevin McCarthy for ‘dumb’ move in standoff with Biden
McCarthy sent Biden a letter insisting he is “incredibly concerned that you are jeopardizing an already fragile economy” with his spending plan.
“No, you’re not!” Colbert fired back. “You know how I know you’re not concerned?” Because you expressed your concern in the slowest possible form of communication: a letter.
Colbert gave an example of the indifference that actually is.
“It’s like saying, ‘Oh no! The house is a fire! Quick, someone hire a quartet of barbers to notify the fire department,” he said.
