Stelter on CNN: “I’m going to support this place for the rest of my life”

“I’m going to be rooting for this place for the rest of my life,” Stelter said at one point.

Both Stelter and his guests on the final show reflected on the changes in media since the show premiered in 1992 and how news media might look in the future.

β€œIt’s silly to say that the media is the enemy of the people. The media are the people,” Stelter said, discussing the evolution of the media over the past 30 years. “And people are flawed, opinionated, hopeful and believe in responsibility.”

Stelter hosted journalist Carl Bernstein on Sunday’s show, as well as media critics Eric Deggans, Jodie Ginsberg and David Zurawik. Journalist Brian Karem, who was the first guest on “Reliable Sources” in 1992, also made an appearance as a final guest.
