“Big Ben” may need a new nickname before the 2021 season.
The Steelers quarterback has always been one of the biggest QBs in the league, both in height and girth. But as he gets older, Roethlisberger may pay more attention to his diet and weight.
According to a report by former NBC Sports and ESPN host Ryan Burr, Roethlisberger, 39, is only focusing on his diet and weight reduction ahead of the 2021 NFL season.
“Ben will never mention the beatings he suffered in the media, but says from a dedication standpoint he’s never seen anything like it from Ben in the past. The source says she is obsessed with diet and workouts. “https://t.co/xiezHzYrUj

“Ben will never mention the beatings he took in the media, but from a dedication standpoint, he’s never seen anything like it from Ben in the past,” Burr said on Twitter. “The source says she is obsessed with eating and working out.”
The Steelers, who have done little to fill the quarterback this offseason – they took a leaflet on former first-round player Dwayne Haskins – would likely welcome an invigorated, slimmer Roethlisberger heading into the 2021 season.
Roethlisberger has taken a hit in his career, with a knee injury threatening his availability last year. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Roethlisberger suffers from arthritis in both knees, therefore gaining weight will only be beneficial.
Without a clear successor plan in place, Roethlisberger will be the man – or half of one, if he’s, in fact, slimmed down a bit.
