The Michigan State Police Station in Caro is looking for volunteers for its program that helps people with addictions.
The Angel program allows anyone with a drug addiction to come to a state police station and seek help without fear of being arrested or investigated.
Program volunteers help soldiers find the right treatment option and help get the participant to a treatment center. The MSP reimburses volunteers for mileage and meal costs.
After 20 hours of service, volunteers are eligible to receive an hourly allowance. MSP staff will train volunteers on the responsibilities and expectations of being an angel.
Anyone interested in volunteering or learning more about the program can contact Caro Extension at 989-673-2156 or visit the Angel Program webpage.
