Start of ticket sales for the T20 World Cup; India v Pakistan sold out in minutes

Tickets for the India-Pakistan clash at the upcoming T20 World Cup have sold out minutes after tickets went on sale for the event in Australia today. The tournament to be held in Australia from October 16 to November 13 will allow cricket fans to see the clash of cricketing giants a few months after the last edition of the tournament.
While interest in the India-Pakistan clash is not unusual, the latter’s historic victory over India for the first time in a World Cup in the UAE has certainly upped the ante.
The tournament will be crucial for the Aussies as they will look to defend their only T20 World Cup in front of home fans months after winning it in the United Arab Emirates. It is the first time that Australia will host the world’s showpiece of men’s T20 cricket, with matches to be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
“We felt the power of the home crowd support at the 2015 One Day Cricket World Cup and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup last year. It will be great to have all the country behind us and make it another unforgettable World Cup,” said Australian skipper Aaron Finch.
