Star Wars Outlaws’ Jabba the Hutt Mission Locked Behind Season Pass

Ubisoft has already been criticized for the Star Wars Outlaws single-player game having a Season Pass, but fans are once again expressing their frustration by noticing that its highly anticipated Jabba the Hutt mission is locked behind it.

As reported by Spanish media outlet Area Jugones, Ubisoft’s website outlines the contents of the Season Pass – an optional supplement to the standard $70/£70 game so far only available through its $109.99 Gold Edition and the even more expensive Ultimate Edition at $129.99 – reveals that it includes access. to the Jabba’s Gambit mission at launch.

“Play the exclusive Jabba’s Gambit mission at launch,” the Season Pass explanation reads. “Just as Kay is assembling a team for the Canto Bight heist, she receives a job from Jabba the Hutt himself. It turns out that ND-5 owes Jabba a debt from years ago, and he came to collect her.”

It’s unclear how much of Jabba the Hunt’s content will be locked behind the Season Pass, but Ubisoft has said in the past that players can work and even betray Jabba as the leader of one of Star Wars’ criminal factions Outlaws. It is now unclear whether this content is paid or if it is part of the standard game.

The mission description sounds a lot like an introduction to the job for Jabba, and at the very least it confirms that $70/£70 won’t give players access to all of Star Wars Outlaws. IGN has requested clarification and comment from Ubisoft.

“And that’s why you don’t defend these crappy early access editions with arguments like ‘it doesn’t take anything away from other players, it’s just to play a few days early,'” Zephy said on ResetEra.

It’s a stupid move to lock things that would otherwise be there from day one behind an additional paywall.

“I’m getting missions and items added post-release, free or paid depending on scope and what you want, but I think it’s a stupid move to lock items that would otherwise be there from day one behind an additional paywall,” Temascos added.

Star Wars Outlaws was revealed in 2023 as a villainous adventure set between Star Wars: Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi. It stars Key Vess, her droid partner ND-5, and her beastly companion Nix as they attempt to carve out their own success during Star Wars’ golden age of criminal activity.

It arrives on August 27, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, with the $70/£70 Standard Edition joined by the aforementioned $110/£105 Gold Edition, which includes three days of access anticipated alongside the Season Pass. .

An even more expensive, digital-only Ultimate Edition includes both of these perks, plus cosmetics (the Rogue Infiltrator Pack and the Sebacc Shark Pack) and a digital art book.
