St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster Dan McLaughlin arrested for third DWI

St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster Dan McLaughlin was arrested on suspicion of criminal drunk driving in the Missouri suburb of Creve Coeur on Sunday. according to a police report. This is his third arrest for DWI.
On Monday, McLaughlin, 48, was charged with a “repeat drunk driving offender”, which could result in up to four years in prison. He had previously been convicted of drunk driving in 2010 and 2011.
As of Monday night, McLaughlin was being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on $25,000 cash-only bond. No injuries or material damage were reported.
Creve Coeur police arrested McLaughlin on Sunday evening after receiving two separate reports of a white sedan failing to maintain a single lane.
McLaughlin’s next court date is set for February, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
McLaughlin, who resides in nearby town and country, has been the Cardinals’ play-by-play broadcaster since 2000. He recently completed his 25th season with Fox Sports Midwest and now Bally Sports Midwest.


Bally Sports and the Cardinals released a joint statement, saying: “We have been advised that Dan McLaughlin has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving on Sunday night. We are very disappointed to hear this and are working to gather additional information before offering further feedback.
