They have appointed Naveed Nawaz, a former Sri Lankan Test player, as assistant coach on a two-year contract, said in a statement released by the SLC.
Notably, Nawaz had been the head coach of the Bangladesh Under-19 team, which won the World Cup in 2020. Among other specialist coaches, Chaminda Vaas was appointed for fast bowling and Piyal Wijetunge for the spin, while Manoj Abeywickrama will take care of the pitch.

The first test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will start on May 15 in Chittagong. After that, the second match will be played in Dhaka on May 23.
