Spotify is offering three months of free service to new Spotify Premium users. The three-month deal is available to new Individual and Student subscribers, while new Spotify Duo and Family subscribers can get one month free. The deal isn’t available to former Premium members, but Spotify is offering those who canceled before July 15 a chance to reorder their subscription at a steep discount, receiving their first three months for $9.99.
The new offer is valid for users until Sunday, September 11. After the three-month trial ends, subscribers who took advantage of the offer will be charged the normal subscription price. Those interested can sign up at Spotify.com/Premium.
This latest deal could help Spotify continue to grow its growing number of subscribers as the company slows hiring due to concerns about the economy. The number rose to 188 million in the company’s second quarter from the 182 million subscribers reported by Spotify in the first quarter, with the platform’s total number of users rising to 433 million from 422 million. reported in the first trimester.
Spotify also recently added some new features. The company now offers its paid subscribers a separate play and shuffle button. The company has also started introducing a redesign that keeps podcasts and music separate. However, there is still no sign of Spotify HiFi.
