Splunk appoints new CEO – WSJ

Software maker Splunk Inc. has appointed a new chief executive, 3.5 months after its longtime leader resigned after several quarters of disappointing results.

The company, which makes software used by enterprise information technology and security operations to monitor and analyze data, said it has hired Gary Steele as its new CEO. Mr. Steele will take office on April 11 and will also join the company’s board of directors.
