The second clash on the opening lap saw another HMO Customer Racing rider in the wars.

In this case, it was Josh Buchan who entered alongside Ashley Seward Motorsport ace Michael Caruso.

The two-time Supercars race winner found himself facing the wrong direction, but recovered to 12th place.

Cameron, who finished fourth, dropped to 13th with his penalty.

The other notable incident of the race involving Ben Bargwanna and Nathan Morcom was not penalized.

The weekend’s opening race was won by Wall Racing’s Tony D’Alberto, who led home privateer and fellow Honda Civic driver Zac Soutar.
