As “Space Jam: A New Legacy” nears release on July 16, a new trailer has been released to learn more about the long-awaited sequel.
And the stakes are high for the Tune Squad and LeBron James.
For James, he must win a battle against the intergalactic elite Goon Squad organized by Al-G Rhythm, an evil computer algorithm played by Don Cheadle. If James loses, he won’t be able to save his son, who was kidnapped in order to set up this match.

Meanwhile, the Looney Tunes who team up to help James – including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Lola Bunny and many more – have their lives on the line. If they lose, they will be removed from the “Serververse.”
This was the big reveal from the sequel’s second trailer, which you can see below.
It sure looks like this battle is going to be intense, and those who enjoyed the original film starring Michael Jordan are really looking forward to seeing the battle of Tune Squad on the pitch again, especially with some modern animation styles.
Plus, basketball fans will be eager to see NBA and WNBA stars make cameo and voiceover appearances. Obviously, James is in the movie, but others who will appear include Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul, Draymond Green, Kyle Kuzma, Chiney Ogwumike, Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Diana Taurasi, and Nneka Ogwumike.
And, of course, Ernie Johnson Jr. will appear as a play-by-play voice in the film.
Needless to say, this should be a lot of fun. July 16 cannot get here early enough.
