Sowit supports Asma Invest in its agricultural projects

Asma Agro Invest has joined forces with Sowit, which provides farmers with actionable information about their properties to help them manage their operations, including fertilization, irrigation and harvesting.

This experience, as well as the SoWater application, enabled Asma Agro Invest to obtain positive results by optimizing the irrigation of its field. This estate extends over 1,200 ha, divided into 8 agricultural estates producing olives, citrus fruits, pomegranates, figs, carob, cereals and legumes, vines, rosacea with stones and seeds and dates .

The SoWater application has, in fact, made it possible to calculate the water needs of each plot, according to the characteristics of the crop and the meteorological concerns derived from the satellites. This solution is based on real data (variety, age, rootstock, density, vegetation index, etc.) and allows to adjust dynamic and spatial irrigation recommendations within the plot.

The SoWater application is based on three principles: access to geolocated geolocated data at the scale of a week, in order to plan and prepare upstream; the determination of the exact time of irrigation by sector, chosen which allows to save water and energy on the field; as well as access to analyzes through an assessment of the state of health of the orchards to know the problem areas in order to be able to carry out specific interventions and treat them.

This application retained an efficient management of irrigation thanks to a very positive impact on the management of the farm. It has also saved time and money using the SoYield app, which accurately estimates orchard production up to 2 months before harvest, enabling the estimation and yield of citrus with precision and efficiency.
