South Jersey HS Male Athlete of the 2021-22 Winter Season

During the winter high school sports season, 973 ESPN South Jersey and Prime Events brought you nominees and you voted for South Jersey High School Athlete of the Week. We now want to recognize the top female high school athletes for the 2021-22 winter season. The 2021 Fall Season High School Female Athlete winner was Jenna Gray from Egg Harbor Township and the 2021 Fall Season High School Male Athlete winner was Cedar Creek Quarterback JC Landicini.

Check out the nominees for the Winter 2022 season, then vote for who you think should be the winner below:

*Mason Bushay, Continental Region – The junior won the 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke at the Cape Atlantic league meet and was named Most Valuable Swimmer. He finished 8th at the Meet of Champions in the 100 freestyle.

*Cohen Cook, Continental Region – This Sophomore led the Cape Atlantic League Tournament champions in scoring (17.3) and has been a force on the inside both on offense and defense this season.

*David Giulian, Middle Township – The senior wrestler finished sixth in the state at 190 pounds and finished his career with 116 wins.

*Carlos Lopez, Egg Harbor Township – This senior led the Cape Atlantic League in scoring with 21.7 points per game this season and also led the CAL with 76 three-pointers.

* Pack Carter, Holy Spirit High School – The Freshman finished 20-7 on the wrestling mat and was the district and area champion at 106 pounds.

*Jake Slotnick, St. Augustine Prep – This junior finished the wrestling season 29-7, including winning the district and region titles at 150 pounds.
