South Florida immigrants know Biden’s ‘shocking’ type of FBI behavior

During an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity” on Tuesday, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) weighed in on the FBI’s raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, in Florida.

According to Rubio, those who immigrated to South Florida from authoritarian Latin American countries were familiar with such raids and the dangers of government officials trying to “criminalize” political opposition.

“Look, I’m here in a very unique position in South Florida, surrounded by people who come from countries where it’s familiar to them,” he said. “It’s shocking to Americans, but in Latin America and in a lot of them, you know, countries around the world, here’s what’s happening: a group is taking over. One of the first things this group does is begin to persecute and prosecute their political opponents. And then when the supporters of their political opponents start complaining about it, they start targeting them and they criminalize the opposition.

“And that’s what’s happening here now,” Rubio continued. “They took over. They are demanding – and you see it on Twitter, you see their public statements, they are demanding. They want Donald Trump arrested. They want him charged right away. They wanted him charged months, years ago. They wanted him charged.

“And I’m telling you the next thing you’re going to see here, Sean, because this is the playbook, and that’s now they’re going to start saying, ‘Oh, those Trump supporters, those Republicans, they are very angry. They say very angry things. We think they could be a threat. We think they are radical extremists. Let’s start stopping them.'”

“You’re going to – the next step in this process is going to be people who are Donald Trump supporters or just conservatives who are complaining about this are going to start being harassed by – are going to start being labeled as potential insurgents and are going to start to be harassed by law enforcement,” he added. “That’s the next step in this playbook, unfortunately.”
