Sofia Vergara apparently isn’t a fan of jokes about her new single status.

The “America’s Got Talent” actor and judge surprised viewers this week when she abruptly left the “AGT” stage during a “lie detector” segment.

The eyebrow-raising moment came after fellow judge Howie Mandel asked Vergara if she had spotted anyone in the audience that interested her.

After the audience applauded the question, Vergara removed the lie detector armband and announced, “That’s it.” »

She then returned to the judge’s table.

In July, Vergara split from her husband, actor Joe Manganiello, after seven years of marriage. Since then, Manganiello has been romantically involved in the media with actor Caitlin O’Connor, although this relationship has not been confirmed.

Ultimately, Vergara didn’t seem deeply fazed by Mandel’s question. However, this isn’t the first time he’s made a joke alluding to his recent breakup.

“If you’re looking for eligible singles, you should have talked to Sofia because she’s on the market right now,” the comedian told contestant Brynn Cummings after performing a ventriloquist routine with an “eligible single” puppet. .

Appearing on “Entertainment Tonight” after that episode aired, Mandel jokingly referred to himself as Vergara’s “Bumble” and defended his remark, noting that he had been hit by backlash online.

“People said it was too early and it was in bad taste,” he said. “As soon as she’s free, as soon as they live in separate houses, the door is open, people!”

Mandel also said Vergara “thought it was funny” behind the scenes.

“She approved of the joke,” he said. “But the Internet is crazy.”
