Social Media Reactions to Michigan’s 27-24 Surprise Win Over USC

Saturday’s game featured two of the most iconic programs in all of college football. Here’s a selection of some of the best social media reactions to the game and Michigan’s performance in the 27-24 upset win over USC.

The first-ever stripe out at Michigan Stadium looked fantastic for the marquee game against USC.

After the defenses traded stops early in the first quarter and Michigan converted a fourth down, the Wolverines got their first point on a 53-yard touchdown run by Kalel Mullings.

Michigan’s defense has looked a lot more like what we expected at the start of the season so far, stifling USC, especially on the ground.

Michigan’s ground game also looked much better. This time, it was Donovan Edwards who ran for a long touchdown to make it 14-0.

After Michigan jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, USC tightened the screws a bit with a field goal, and eventually a 75-yard touchdown run to start the second half.

Will Johnson just did some Will Johnson stuff with a pick-six to swing the momentum in Michigan’s favor in the third quarter.

And that’s what happened. Kenneth Grant tries to recover the fumble, but he gives it right back to the Trojans, leading to a touchdown and a 20-17 score.

The dam eventually broke and USC’s offense managed to take the lead late in the game after Donovan Edwards fumbled the ball in Michigan territory.

Mullings gave Michigan some life late in the game with a massive 63-yard run deep into USC territory, eventually scoring a touchdown to take a 27-24 lead.

The Wolverines ultimately won and improved to 3-1 on the year.
