Angelo Mathews

Former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews is once again available for the India tour. The versatile 34-year-old was not among the 18 players who were part of the five-month deal in August last year. He made himself unavailable for selection at the height of the dispute over player contracts in May. He had said he needed a break to reconsider his future as a player, even going so far as to say he might even retire, islandcricket.lk reported.

Mathews missed the Australian tour to Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the LPL. He brings a wealth of experience with over 13,000 international cricket runs in 388 matches in all formats.

Suranga Lakmal

Sri Lankan pacemaker Suranga Lakmal has decided to announce his retirement from international cricket and the Sri Lanka Tour of India. He won 285 wickets in 165 matches in all formats for SL during his 12-year run. He hopes to hit the 300 wicket mark in the upcoming clashes against India. He will join English county Derbyshire on a two-year contract.

Meanwhile, Niroshan Dickwella will also mark his return after being sidelined due to a disciplinary misconduct incident in England.

Sri Lanka will play five T20I matches and two Tests in India from February 24 to March 16.
