Six people were injured in a mass shooting Friday night in Eugene, Oregon, the Eugene Police Department said.
The shooting took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. local time outside WOW Hall, a non-profit concert hall and community center in downtown Eugene. A concert was in progress at the time.
Initially, police said five people were injured and were taken to a local hospital. A sixth person was later taken to hospital in connection with the shooting, police said.
EPD chief Chris Skinner said one person is currently in surgery; the status of the other five is unknown at this time, according to KEZI 9 News.
“We believe all staff and volunteers are safe and cared for,” Deb Maher, interim general manager of WOW Hall, and Jaci Guerena, chair of the board, said in a statement.
“This is unprecedented at WOW Hall. The police are investigating. If we receive any additional information, we will try to make it available.”
Police currently have no suspects in custody and An investigation is underway, police said.
Skinner said the suspect was seen wearing a hoodie and heading west on 8th Avenue, where WOW Hall Street is located.
