Simone Biles returns to Tokyo 2020 with U.S. gymnastics star set to compete in beam final after pulling out of events due to mental health

Simone Biles’ Tokyo 2020 Olympics are NOT over as the gymnastics star is set to compete in the beam final.

USA Gymnastics has confirmed the 24-year-old will return to action on Tuesday.

Biles received praise for opening up about his sanity and is now set to return to his quest for gold at Tokyo 2020

Biles made headlines at the Olympics by withdrawing from several events to protect his sanity.

The American star has so far withdrawn from five of the six finals she has qualified for in Tokyo, citing the “twisties” – a mental block which she says currently prevents her from competing safely and to the best of his ability.

But she will now have one last chance to end her 2020 Games with a gold medal on beam, with the USA team confirming her appearance in the final.

Biles won bronze on beam at the Rio 2016 Olympics, but is the reigning world champion having won gold in Stuttgart in 2019.

This is breaking news. Further updates will follow shortly.
