The Cure has announced a 44-date tour of the UK and Europe for 2022.

The band ‘Friday I’m In Love’ will debut in Riga, Latvia on October 6 before concluding five UK concerts at London’s SSE Arena on December 11.

Fans will be treated to a 135-minute show and a new “67-minute” album has also been released, which would mark the band’s first record since “4:13 Dream” in 2008.

The band have confirmed that the tour’s line-up will include bassist Simon Gallup, who said in August he left the band “with a bit of a heavy heart” because he “was fed up with the betrayal.” Two months later, however, he appeared to confirm he had joined The Cure.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday (10.12.21) and the band will be supported at all shows by The Twilight Sad.

Frontman Robert Smith has previously suggested that their next two albums will be their last full albums, as the band “Just Like Heaven” has invested a lot of emotional energy into their new work.

The 62-year-old musician said: “Cure’s new stuff is very emotional.

“It’s 10 years of life distilled into a few hours of intense stuff.

“And I can’t think that we’ll ever do anything else. I definitely can’t do it anymore.”

The Cure 2022 UK Tour Dates:

December 4 – Glasgow Ovo Hydro

December 6 – Leeds First Direct Arena

December 7 – Birmingham Utilita Arena

December 8 – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena

December 11 – London The SSE Arena Wembley
