A cold Friday night front will bring cool fall air to the Tennessee Valley this weekend, but that front could also cause weather issues for Friday night football games.
A few isolated thunderstorms are possible from Friday in the middle of the afternoon in front of the front. Storms before 7 p.m. will be capable of heavy rain, frequent lightning and possibly gusty winds and small hail. The main storm line is not expected to be particularly intense, but there could still be lightning and heavy rain as it moves northwest to southeast overnight. While many games will end before these storms approach, there could be games, particularly in Northwestern Alabama, where lightning delays are possible.
Fortunately, the chances of rain end over the weekend and things look like fall this weekend early next week. For the full forecast, check out our updated forecast discussion.
