Shooting in South Carolina: 5 injured in a “chaotic scene”

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 11:30 a.m. ‘about people shooting at each other’ on Logan Farm Road, police said on Twitter.
When they arrived on what was described as a “one-lane rural dirt road,” law enforcement officials found five people with gunshot wounds, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue.

“Dispatchers were having trouble getting information about the chaotic scene,” the fire department said in a news release. “Some occupants drove to a house near the location and other injured people ran south on Logan Farm Road to escape.”

The victims included four men and a woman between the ages of 17 and 33, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue.

They were taken to hospital for treatment, police said. One is in critical but stable condition, police said.

It is unclear what led to the shooting or if law enforcement made any arrests.
