Shooting in NC leaves 1 dead and 2 injured

A man was killed and two others seriously injured early Sunday in a shooting in a North Carolina town outside a building where space had been rented for a party, authorities said.
Winston-Salem police say they were called shortly after 5:15 a.m. to the business location and found 29-year-old Darryl Rice Jr. with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, according to a police statement.
Two other people with gunshot wounds – men aged 23 and 17 – were taken separately to hospital. Both were in critical condition Sunday afternoon, police said.

A preliminary police investigation indicates that an argument started inside the business where the party was planned and continued outside before shots were fired, according to the press release . Police were still looking for information on Sunday.
Authorities closed the street in front of the business for several hours for the investigation.
