Shell CEO Ben van Beurden resigns

Shell PLC said longtime CEO Ben van Beurden was retiring after nine years, capping a period of continuous change within the oil and gas industry, and would be replaced by Wael Sawan.

The London-based energy giant said Mr van Beurden will step down on January 1 and continue to work as an adviser to the board until June 30, after which he will leave the company.
