Sheezan Khan’s family launch new allegations

The case surrounding the death of TV actress Tunisha Sharma takes new twists every day, with the family of main defendant Sheezan Khan making new allegations against Sharma’s mother, claiming she tried to strangle her own daughter.

Arrested actor Sheezan Khan’s family and legal team issued clarifications against allegations of ‘love jihad’ in Tunisha Sharma’s death on Monday, saying they ‘never forced her to embrace Islam as a culture, contrary to the allegations made against Khan by Sharma’s family.

Khan’s family – sisters Falaq and Shafaz, mother Parveen and lawyer Shailendra Mishra – have denied Vanita Sharma’s claims made on December 30 that they were pressuring her to convert to Islam and that she had started wearing a “hijab” against her will.

Earlier, Tunisha Sharma’s mother Vanita Sharma and uncle Pawan Sharma claimed that Sheezan’s family took her to a dargah and asked her to wear a hijab, a claim which has now been denied by the family Khan at a press conference.

They further alleged that Vanita Sharma was forcing Tunisha to work while she was suffering from depression. They claimed that mother-daughter relations were strained and that Vanita was putting pressure on her daughter.

“Tunisha suffered from depression due to childhood trauma. She was made to sign up for two music videos when she was not interested… If her mother hadn’t forced her to work and hadn’t given her professional mental treatment in time, she would have been alive today,” Shafaq Khan said, according to IANS reports.

They further claimed that Tunisha’s relationship with her mother was strained and that Vanita Sharma once tried to strangle her daughter and even broke her mobile phone. Vanita was also accused of “controlling” Tunisha’s finances and not giving her enough money.

They also pointed out that Vanita Sharma’s claim that the Khans gave Tunisha a dog was false because this German Shepherd dog actually belonged to her uncle Sanjeev Kaushal, the photo of this dog was taken in Chandigarh, although that Tunisha desperately wanted a pet that could love her due to her delicate mental state.
