Sharon Stone Delivers Final Say on ‘Basic Instinct’ Stage With Cheeky Instagram Post

Sharon Stone paid tribute to her best-known movie role with a delightfully self-referential Instagram post that garnered praise from many of her famous friends.

Stone on Monday nodded to 1992’s “Basic Instinct” by rocking a T-shirt featuring an animated sketch of Catherine Tramell, her character in the film. The actor notably appeared to be pantless in the picture – possibly alluding to the fact that Catherine was shown without her underwear in that film’s most controversial scene.

“I was there, I did that; got the T-shirt, ”wrote Stone, who is holding makeup instead of a cigarette in the photo.

Andie MacDowell, Debra Messing and Lisa Rinna were just a few of the stars to give their photo approval in the comments section.

“I want your thighs. And 100 other things, ”Messing wrote. Actor Angie Harmon added, “And ALWAYS… games last forever !!”

Meanwhile, artist Glen Hanson said he got “the mind blowing” after seeing Stone, whom he called a “moron goddess,” wearing a shirt he designed.

Stone spoke about the filming of “Basic Instinct” in his memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” which contains candid anecdotes about his rise to stardom.

In an excerpt from the book that appeared in Vanity Fair, the actor said that a member of the film’s production crew urged her to remove her white underwear before filming the scene because it “reflected the light ”. She went on to note that it wasn’t until she saw the film’s final cut that she realized she had essentially been tricked into revealing everything.

“There have been many views on this topic, but since I’m the one with the vagina in question, let me say: other views are bullshit,” Stone wrote. “I went to the projection booth, I slapped [director] Paul [Verhoeven] opposite, left, I went to my car and called my lawyer, Marty Singer. Marty told me they couldn’t release this movie as is. That I could get an injunction … Phew, I was thinking.”

In the end, Stone said she nodded because “it was okay for the movie and for the character; and because, after all, I did.
