Candace Bushnell shares what she really thinks about the tv show Sex and the city.
The author, who wrote the book Sex and the city, gave him his take on the HBO adaptation during a recent interview with the New York Post.
“I don’t watch the TV show like other people watch it,” she explained. “I’m not analyzing everything. It’s a great show, it’s really funny. But there are fans who… it’s like this show is really guiding them.”
Finding their own Mr. Big, she continued, shouldn’t be the primary focus of viewers. “The reality is that finding a man may not be your best economic choice in the long run,” Bushnell added. “Men can be very dangerous to women in different ways. We never talk about it, but it’s something women have to think about: you can do a lot less… when you have to rely on a man. TV show and the message wasn’t very feminist at the end. But it’s TV. It’s entertainment. That’s why people shouldn’t base their lives on a TV show. “
