Severe storms possible in Twin Cities Thursday night
MINNEAPOLIS — Thursday is a NEXT weather alert day due to the risk of severe storms.
After fast-moving overnight thunderstorms in the Twin Cities, a cold front triggers a second wave between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
There is a low risk (2 on a scale of 5) that these storms will become severe, with the main threats being hail and wind. There is also a risk of tornadoes along Interstate 35 and in western Wisconsin.
As the system finally moves east, Friday will be a day of comfort. Expect a sunny day with highs around 80 degrees. In fact, it will be nice enough to warrant a #Top10WxDay.
Saturday is still expected to be a bit warm, with highs around 80 degrees. Occasional showers are possible, but it won’t be a disaster.
On Sunday, cooler air arrives, with highs near 70 degrees.
