A shooting Friday afternoon left at least three people injured in northwest Washington, DC, authorities said. The incident happened near the University of the District of Columbia, which is currently on containment.
The DC Police Department identified the injured as two adult males and a female juvenile, but did not specify their condition.
Police are asking residents to avoid the 4100 block of the Connecticut Avenue NW area and to wait street closures until further notice as officers respond to the incident. Mayor of DC Muriel Bowser urged those in Cleveland Park and the Van Ness area to shelter in place. Police said they were sweeping the neighborhood.
Authorities asked anyone with information about the incident to call the DC Police Department.
