Several people were shot in a shooting at a hotel and casino near Green Bay, Wisconsin on Saturday night, a tribal official said.
Melinda J. Danforth, director of intergovernmental affairs for Oneida Nation, which runs the casino, said seven or eight people may have been affected.
Gunshots erupted in a Radisson Inn connected to the Oneida Casino in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, just outside Green Bay, she said.
The suspect was in custody, she said.
Police always cleaned rooms just to be safe, Danforth said
“Crowd control is a problem for us because people are trying to see what’s going on,” she said.
The casino tweeted earlier, he was grappling with “an active shooter situation” and several security forces were on the scene.
Local police and firefighters refused to provide information.
The casino tweeted that all its facilities have been closed until further notice.
