Sevastopol suffers missile attack – governor – RT Russia and the former Soviet Union
Russian air defenses attacked several hostile targets over Crimea, Sevastopol governor says
Ukrainian forces attempted to target the port of Sevastopol in Crimea, according to Mikhail Razvozhaev, the governor of the strategic city that hosts Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.
“About 20 minutes ago our enemies attacked Sevastopol. » Razvozhaev wrote in a post on Telegram around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The official said air defenses were activated against the suspected missiles, but the attack sparked a fire at one site. “non-civil” facility located in the city’s industrial district.
No casualties were immediately reported, nor was there any information on the extent of the damage on the ground. Several photos and videos shared by Russian Telegram news channels reportedly showed an explosion and fire near one of the city’s shipyards.
All traffic on the Crimean Bridge was briefly stopped as a precaution during the incident. Razvozhaev said that all security services “continue to monitor the situation” urging residents to remain calm and trust only official sources of information.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the incident or specified the type of missiles or drones used in the latest strike against Crimea.
In recent months, Ukraine has repeatedly launched drones into Crimea, where they have encountered intense Russian air defenses. Groups of two to three drones also targeted the Moscow shopping center in the Russian capital, causing minor material damage but without causing any casualties. The Kremlin called the attacks “nuisance” and an act of desperation, intended to distract from kyiv’s failures on the battlefield.
