(RTTNews) – Indian stocks opened slightly higher on Wednesday, following gains elsewhere in other Asian markets after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was no longer pushing for the country’s membership of the NATO.
The benchmark 30-stock BSE Sensex index edged up 271 points, or 0.5%, to 53,695 in early trading, while the broader NSE Nifty index rose 84 points, or 0.5%. %, at 16,097.
InterGlobe Aviation jumped 7% and SpiceJet jumped 5.2% after it announced the resumption of commercial international flight services from Marcy 27 after a two-year hiatus.
Adani Ports grew by almost 2%. Indian Oil Corp. adds new oil tanks at Mundra Port of Adani for expansion.
Infosys advanced 1.6%. The computer science major and Dow Jones have announced an expanded collaboration to develop new human-centered digital experiences.
Sun Pharma rose 1.3%. Its subsidiary Taro Pharmaceuticals USA Inc has completed the acquisition of Galderma’s subsidiaries.
Tata Consultancy Services gained 0.7% after setting an ambitious milestone to reach $50 billion in revenue by 2030.
