The film, directed by Elizabeth Banks, is based on a true story from the 1980s where a black bear was found dead after ingesting a large amount of cocaine. Liotta plays drug dealer Dentwood, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It was one of Liotta’s last roles before his death in the Dominican Republic in May.

He was overseas filming the movie “Dangerous Waters” when he died in his sleep. He was 67 years old.

The origin story comes from Georgia in 1985, when investigators were searching the ground for air contraband. Gary Garner of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said of the finds, “The bear got there before we could, and he tore up the duffel bag, gave him cocaine, and overdosed him.”

The film is described as “a bizarre group of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers converging in a Georgian forest where a 500-pound black bear runs amok after inadvertently ingesting cocaine,” according to IMDb.

The film also stars Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, among many others. The release date of the film is February 24, 2023.
