The queen of the Los Angeles billboard is finally coming to a screen near you.
Peacock just announced that angelyne—his highly anticipated limited series featuring Emmy Rossum as the blonde bombshell of the same name – will officially premiere on the streaming service on Thursday, May 19. Centered on his rise to fame, the show chronicles how angelynethe glow-in-the-dark queen, took over LA after having her portraits plastered on billboards across town and drove around in what eventually became her signature pink Corvette.
Rossum is nearly unrecognizable as an actual character in the teaser below, which shows her hopping into Angelyne’s famous car and speeding off into the unknown, but not before asking the audience, “Will you really know my story, the story of my life?”
“The thing is,” she continues, “I’m something you have to experience. I’m Angelyne.”
In a press release, Rossum said the new series, which she has devoted the better part of four years to, “plays with big questions,” such as, “Are we defined by the historical facts of our lives? Or can we define ourselves? ” “
