Sebi briefs Parliamentary Committee on regulatory issues related to Ipos, Volatility, Ifsc and Aifs

SEBI Chairman Madhavi Puri Buch briefed the Parliamentary Finance Standing Committee on regulatory issues regarding IPOs, volatility, IFSC and alternative investment funds.

CNBC-TV18 has learned that SEBI informed the panel that it was working with the government to firm up the proposed “Unified Securities Market Code.”

The market regulator also indicated that a monitoring system is being developed for the registration and monitoring of securities created and the monitoring of covenants of non-convertible securities.

SEBI officials also briefed the panel on the cybersecurity measures taken. Steps have been taken to improve the regulatory framework after the recent wave of IPOs, including new technology companies.

It is learned that SEBI has informed the committee that a consultation document has been issued to request the inclusion of disclosure of relevant key performance indicators. SEBI also said there will be graduated surveillance measures on securities whose price is not commensurate with financial health and fundamentals.
