Seattle official who defies cops wants police protection after dumping feces at home

Kshama Sawant, a Seattle socialist councilwoman who led efforts to defund the police, asks the police to protect her home after fecal matter was dumped there.

Conservative radio host Jason Rantz reported that Sawant asked the Seattle Police Department (SPD) to post officers outside his residence from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for protection until the suspect was arrested, according to multiple sources who told Rantz on condition of anonymity.

The alleged requests were made in response to Sawant claiming bags of human excrement had been thrown at his house six times, with the most recent incident occurring on October 13. After such an incident on October 8, the counselor alleges that an officer said to her husband, “What do you expect from us?”

After her home was the target of feces during the Oct. 13 incident, Sawant says she received an email calling her “the queen of shit,” further reading, “you can sit on your throne of human excrement,” Fox 13 reported.

Sawant has since accused the SPD of “failing to investigate” the incidents, saying it did not investigate the Oct. 8 incident and did not investigate the Oct. 13 incident.

She then wrote a letter to city officials, saying:

There is obviously a glaring inconsistency between this approach and the way former Mayor Durkan, after a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest was held a short distance from his mansion, was watched around the clock for a full year.

As a socialist city council member who participated in the Black Lives Matter protests, I’m told that my case of six threatening incidents involving human excrement doesn’t even deserve serious investigation, let alone protection.

Sawant then blamed “right-wing” media for describing the dumping of feces at her home as “justified” because she has criticized police in the past.

“This is certainly a dangerous direction, especially if embraced by the police and de facto supported by the SPD leadership and the city’s Democratic Party establishment,” the adviser wrote.

The Seattle Police Department released a blotter on Thursday asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect who vandalized Sawant’s home but did not mention his name. Police say witnesses described the suspect as an Asian male about 5ft 4in tall.

Sawant, who is not a Democrat but a member of the Socialist Alternative, was an instigator of lawlessness in Seattle in 2020 before later voting to defund the city’s police budget.

At the start of the June 2020 protests in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) — which took over a police station and saw two black teenagers die during the protest against the occupation — Sawant led a group of Black Lives Matter protesters at City Hall demanding the removal of then-Mayor Jenny Durkan.

Sawant later bragged on social media about her efforts to fund the Seattle Police Department, including salaries for officers working in the department in August 2020, Breitbart News reported.

The Indian-born and raised councilor faced a recall election in her district in December 2021, but narrowly won by just over 300 votes.
