Sean O’Malley names the only fighter capable of beating Islam Makhachev

Sean O’Malley thinks Alexander Volkanovski has the best chance of beating Islam Makhachev.
Makhachev is looking to defend the UFC lightweight championship for the first time at UFC 284. The Russian will face reigning featherweight champion Volkanovski, who is underrated despite being the number one pound fighter for book. During an episode of BrOMalley showO’Malley had this to say about the 155-pound title fight on Feb. 11:
“What I was trying to say about Alexander Volkanovski is he’s got his style under control. He’s smaller, he’s compact. Is he going to be able to get taken down and restrained? You’d assume so if you looked at the fights of Islam. You would think, ok, why would Alexander Volkanovski be able to stop Islam, but I think if anyone can do it, it’s Alexander Volkanovski. I think that if anyone can beat Islam, it’s me or Alexander Volkanovski. Just kidding, calm down…”
Volkanovski is highly respected in the MMA community, but he’s putting on weight to fight the Russian savage. Makhachev lost his first fight in 2015 and has won eleven straight UFC fights since. ‘The Great’ is looking to end their winning streak with an upset in Perth, Australia.
