Sean Dyche’s new four-year contract is “fabulous” for Burnley, insists Simon Jordan, who believes the Clarets boss is the only thing keeping them in the Premier League.
The 50-year-old has been at the club since 2012, almost nine years, most of which were passed into the top flight despite a tight budget.
Securing its services for the future has been the top priority of new owners ALK Capital, who have provided unprecedented financial support in the summer transfer window.
Dyche is often linked with jobs bigger than Turf Moor – and former Crystal Palace boss Jordan wonders why the Englishman wants to stay at Burnley.
However, the host of White and Jordan insists this is the best news imaginable for the club and its new owners.
“This is extremely important,” Jordan told talkSPORT. “Huge decision from Sean Dyche.
“A huge advantage for Burnley: the only thing that keeps them in the Premier League is Sean Dyche.
“I never like to give an individual too much credit, especially if they’re employees, because you build them to be more important than the business.
“But in this case, without Sean Dyche, Burnley is in a world of trouble.
“To get him to sign a four-year contract, it’s fabulous. Fabulous commitment from Sean, strange that he does not feel the need to test himself elsewhere.
“But if he’s comfortable at Burnley, who are we to question him?” It’s fabulous for new owners. It is a problem off the table.
