Sean Dyche had a fiery outburst in a tunnel with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as the pair prepared to rekindle the rivalry in the Merseyside derby with the former Burnley boss hired to save Everton from relegation

Sean Dyche has been appointed manager of Everton, where his rivalry with Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp will be reignited.
Everton have sacked Frank Lampard amid relegation form and are on the hunt for a new manager, with Dyche emerging as a safe option.

The 51-year-old had been linked with the Everton job for some time as Lampard struggled, and after Marcelo Bielsa rejected the opportunity Dyche was a favourite.
And with his arrival on Merseyside, he can renew his rivalry with Klopp as the two had bitter battles when the Englishman was manager of Burnley.
A particular battle unfolded at Anfield in the Covid-hit 2020/21 season when Liverpool were struggling to a run of six consecutive home defeats in all competitions.
Burnley, managed by Dyche, were one of the teams to beat Liverpool in a tense 1-0 win that featured a bit of a blowout.
It happened at half-time as the then Burnley boss entered the dressing room and the two argued.
The German later said he was not the initiator of the argument and it was not something to be taken lightly.
Dyche defended himself in his post-match press conference, while saying it was no big deal.

Everton hope to shake Klopp in the same way when they meet in the Merseyside derby on February 13 and hopefully start a similar run.
