Sean Bean slammed after intimacy coordinator comments

Sean Bean is being criticized for his recent comments about the downsides of working with an intimacy coordinator.

The game of thrones alum recently said he would be hesitant to work with an intimacy coordinator because it could impact his performance. “It would inhibit me more because it draws attention to things,” Bean told the Sunday timeaccording Variety. “Someone who says, ‘Do this, put your hands there, while you’re touching his thing…'”

Bean specifically noted that while filming a sex scene with snowdrops co-star Lena room for the TV series, the couple opted out of using an intimacy coordinator, which they say yielded a better result. “A lot of times the best work you do, where you try to push boundaries and is very experimental in nature, gets censored when TV stations or advertisers say it’s too much,” he told about their work. “It’s a beautiful scene, quite surreal, dreamlike and abstract.”

Bean acknowledged that some actresses might prefer to work with a coordinator, but in Hall’s case he said, “[Hall] had a musical cabaret background, so she was ready for anything.”
