“Mystery solved.”

Journalist Alan Shipnuck was “forcibly removed” from Phil Mickelson’s post-tour press conference at the LIV Tour on Thursday. The Sports Illustrated reporter first asked Young Golf League chief Greg Norman in a text to find out if he was aware of the incident.

“I didn’t hear. Thanks for letting me know,” Norman replied.

However, Shipnuck then found CNN footage that showed Norman not only knew about it, but was watching the whole situation unfold.

“Oh, mystery solved,” Shipnuck tweeted with the screenshot after wondering who was responsible for her treatment.

He then texted Norman, “It’s funny because,” before sending the photo to the two-time major champion.

Shipnuck published quotes from his unauthorized biography of Mickelson in February in which Mickelson exposed the atrocities of the Saudi regime, which funds the LIV Tour, but rationalized by using them as leverage to negotiate with the PGA Tour.

The return of these comments forced Mickelson, 51, into exile. He didn’t appear in public again until this week when he signed with the LIV Tour for $200 million.

Mickelson shot a 1-under 69 in the first round at the Centurion Club, but it was Shipnuck’s treatment that grabbed the headlines in the first event of the LIV Tour.
