Highlights from the Scottish Premiership game between Aberdeen and Kilmarnock

Hibernian vs Motherwell – Saturday, 3 p.m.

News from the Hibernian team: Hibernian boss Jack Ross will have to leave him until Saturday morning to name his squad to face Motherwell at Easter Road as he watches for some injury doubts.

Ross was concerned that up to five members of the first team might be in danger of missing this weekend’s clash, but saw three of his loss concerns return to practice on Friday.

The anonymous player who missed last week’s win over Hamilton after contracting Covid-19 will not join Ross’ side until next week after experiencing symptoms that required additional checks.

Motherwell Team News: Motherwell captain Declan Gallagher is back in training with a hamstring injury but will not be at risk in Edinburgh.

Steven Lawless returned to the bench midweek, but Graham Alexander still has 12 first-team players missing.

Mark O’Hara, Liam Grimshaw (both ill), Bevis Mugabi (shoulder) and Sherwin Seedorf (knee) are sidelined with recent signings Eddie Nolan, Sam Foley and Harry Smith (all injuries not specified), as well as long-term absentees Trevor Carson, Charles Dunne, Liam Donnelly and Scott Fox (all knees).

Key statistics …

Hibernian remains unbeaten against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership since Jack Ross took the lead (P4 W2 D2).

Motherwell has been winless against Hibernian on the road in the Scottish Premiership (P7 D3 L4) since his 1-0 win in August 2013. They have conceded more than 2 goals in six of those games, drawing the other 0-0 in the most recent such visit.

Hibernian is looking to win five in a row in the top flight for the first time since March 2011.

Highlights from the Scottish Premiership game between St Mirren and Motherwell

Kilmarnock vs Dundee United – Saturday, 3 p.m.

News from the Kilmarnock team: Clevid Dikamona is the only Kilmarnock absent for the Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United.

The defender will miss another five to ten days of training due to a hamstring injury.

Alan Power returns from suspension for the Ayrshire side.

Dundee United team news: Peter Pawlett is suspended for visitors. The midfielder ends a two-game ban following his recent red card against Livingston.

Chris Mochrie is out with a hip problem but is expected to be available next weekend.

Key statistics …

Kilmarnock have won only once in their last five Scottish Premiership games against Dundee United (D1 L3), having won three times in their previous four such meetings before (L1).

Dundee United have conceded at least once in each of their last 12 away games against Kilmarnock in the Scottish top flight (25 goals overall) since a 2-0 win in November 2009.

Kilmarnock have lost each of their last eight league games, including all three under Tommy Wright. Indeed, Wright is the first coach to lose his first three Scottish Premiership games at the helm of a club since his predecessor Alex Dyer also did so for Kilmarnock (Dyer lost the top five from December 2019 to January 2020 ).

Highlights of the Scottish Premiership game between Motherwell and Dundee United

St Mirren vs Ross County – Saturday, 3 p.m.

News from the St Mirren team: St Mirren are expected to welcome forward Collin Quaner again ahead of Saturday’s visit to Ross County.

The former Huddersfield forward has only made one replacement appearance since signing last month, but boss Jim Goodwin is hoping he will be available again after a knee injury to face the Staggies.

Goodwin is also hoping midfielders Jamie McGrath (dislocated shoulder) and Jake Doyle-Hayes (ankle) feel sharper after both midfielders made surprise returns in Motherwell’s midweek draw. Forwards Eamonn Brophy (broken foot) and Kristian Dennis (Achilles) remain sidelined.

Ross County Team News: Defenseman Callum Morris is almost certainly out of the John Hughes County squad due to a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Iain Vigurs is serving Game 2 of a two-game ban.

Full-backs Tom Grivosti (hamstrings) and Connor Randall (full back) are absent for the remainder of the campaign.

Key statistics …

St. Mirren are undefeated in three league games with Ross County (W2 D1) and are looking for back-to-back Scottish Premiership wins over the Staggies for the very first time.

Ross County has won just one of its last six top league trips to Saint-Mirren (D2 L3), a 3-0 victory under Jim McIntyre in April 2015.

St. Mirren have drawn in their last four league games, the Scottish Premiership’s longest run today. Five consecutive draws will be their longest ever race in the competition, which they also did in March 2012.
